Berrilicious nuttiness

Last time I had breakfast in bear company, now it was my cow mug with homemade ice coffee which accompanied my berry breakkie.

Ingredients:

  • overnight oats, soaked in 1/2 milk, 1/2 water
  • 1/2 yoghurt, a handfull of blueberries
  • 1 tbsp honey, cinnamon

I played around with colors, smashing blueberries. ;)

After I finished breakfast, I made some Nutella.

This stuff is so delish, check out the basic procedure how to make homemade nut butter (thanx HEAB). And what do you need to make Nutella? Roasted hazelnuts (a lot of them; I bought the ones which are already roasted, remember chunks of nuts in a chocolate bar? well, that’s the same thing) and some chocolate powder (the one you use to make cocoa; you can also use bitter cocoa powder + sugar). This time I also added some roasted peanuts which wanted to be involved in the procedure. Ok, ok, no problem. Blend for a couple of minutes till the mass starts getting more liquid and fill your favourite jar.

Use it for Nutella pancakes, as spread on bread, in your oatmeal, for the banana sandwich,… or plain. I doubt the jar will have a long life ;). There’s a solution: make another jar! Bon appetit!

  1. Ha ha – nut butter jars don’t need a long shelf life…at least not at my house! :)

Lovely blue bowl of oats, and your homemade Nutella sounds absolutely divine. I need to find some hazelnuts and make a batch. Thanks for the inspiration and the link love.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
